Question by ciar: How do movies create an impression from the audience?

It's just a survey. I just want to know how movies create an impression on you as an audience.
In what ways and what factors affect your impression on a movie, the group of people and the culture which the movie features?
Or, in short, what affects your view on the movie-makers and the group of people and cultures being portrayed in a movie?

Movies creates an impression to its audience by bringing them something they would like. Movie makers base their movies on the latest trends. If today's trends are about some horror movie films, making a romantic comedy which most people would not want at the present time can be a disaster movie.
