Sydney Water has spent the last month or so doing work outside my window. For most of the time, it has meant loud work during the day (often starting as early as 7 AM) and loud-but-not-unbearable sounds of pumps running 24 hours. Sometime yesterday it became a round-the-clock process, with chainsaws (or something that sounded like them) being used as late as 1 AM. Needless to say, I got relatively little sleep last night. For most of today the entire street was blocked off so you couldn't go North or South on Forbes Street and had to walk around the block.
