Question by Ya Ya Vegas: College educators have proposed a petition to lower the drinking age to 18, claiming that the current 21 age?

... promotes binge drinking in college. Will the national drinking age in the US be lowered within the next 2 years?
I oppose this and the assumption that it will lower binge drinking?

I doubt it, seeing as 16 year olds can get their hands on alcohol anyway.
People start college when they're 18, so there is no point on lowering the national drinking age when they will binge drink in college that year as well.
